Creating rules

Choose when a rule runs and use it to automate metadata and processing settings.

Rules let you automate changes that you would otherwise make for each video. Open iFlicks settings and select Rules.

Choose when the rule runs

  • On File Load: runs after a video has been loaded, before automatic metadata lookup. Use this stage to adjust information used for the search or change whether an automatic search takes place.
  • After Metadata Update: runs after metadata has been updated. Use this stage when a decision depends on the search result.
  • After processing: runs after processing has finished. This stage is useful for follow-up AppleScript actions.

Create and test a rule

  1. Select the appropriate stage and add a rule.
  2. Give it a descriptive name.
  3. Set conditions to identify the videos it should affect.
  4. Add the actions you want iFlicks to perform.
  5. Test with one video before using the rule for a larger batch.

You can edit, duplicate or temporarily deactivate existing rules. If the result is unexpected, check other active rules that may change the same fields.
