Choosing a processing preset

Decide whether to update metadata, reuse compatible video or encode a new output.

A preset determines how iFlicks processes a video. Start with the change you want to make.

Update metadata

For supported MP4/M4V files, Update Metadata writes metadata without re-encoding the video. Update Metadata and Rename also allows the file to be renamed. Use a conversion preset when you need to change tracks.

Make a video Apple compatible

Apple compatible can copy suitable H.264 or HEVC video into the output without another video encode. This depends on the source track and preset limits. If direct copying is not possible, video encoding may be required. Audio and subtitles are handled separately.

Choose a resolution preset

Use a resolution-specific preset when you want a newly encoded output within that preset's size limits. The best choice depends on the device where you plan to watch the result.

Before processing a collection, try one representative file on your intended player. A familiar filename extension alone does not guarantee compatibility with every device.
